First of all, I'm so, so sorry for being MIA these past 3 months or so. Life (specifically, school) got in the way and whenever I have free time I tend to procrastinate and laze around, both habits need to be changed. But I've improved and have decided to make the most of my time by being productive! I'm trying to grow my blog, and hopefully I'll start a YouTube channel soon.

Anyway, a few days ago I picked up the Peripera Peri's Ink in #3 to try out and find out if it's really THAT long-lasting like some people claim it does. The color's also really pretty plus it's cheap, so why not? Alright, on to the review.

Product Description

The packaging is incredibly cute and unique, definitely something that you usually get with Korean makeup. The bottle's really light and made of plastic. It came in a cardboard box. The cartoon girl was designed by Mari Kim, who also created the animation for 2NE1's Hate You music video.

#3 No Way! is a beautiful bright orange-red that's fully opaque with only one swipe. It's medium-toned, not too light nor too dark. It dries down to a satin, semi-glossy finish. It's difficult to really capture the color on camera because in real life it's stunning. Orange-y colors usually look good on me and this one's no exception. I do like to wear this with a dab of red lipstick on the inner lips to give that watercolor effect. I usually wear this when I'm doing a simple eye look, so the lips become the center of attention. It can look over the top if you pair it with a heavy smokey eye.

Performance

This has quickly become one of my staples, mostly because of the color. I love the way it looks and how it fits the lips. It smells like orange candy. It feels lightweight, though it can be drying. You have to work with it quickly because it sets almost immediately, therefore it's pretty hard to blend. I usually put some on my inner lips and blend it outwards. It lasts long, but I think some of the claims were exaggerated. I heard that it'll last the whole day, it'll last through oily meals, and basically won't budge to the point where it's difficult to remove. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with the staying power. It did stain my lips, but after a meal a lot of the tint had already rubbed off and looked streaky. 

I had to touch up 2-3 times during the day, but it wasn't because the tint completely disappeared or was extremely blotchy, it was more because some of it faded away after each drink or snack. I actually didn't need to touch up that much, but I just didn't want my makeup to look undone, if you know what I mean. I also had no problem removing the tint with cleansing oil.

But needless to say, I still love the color and I've never had anything like it before so I'm obsessed! I am a bit confused on why the staying power didn't live up to its claims. I will keep trying this and hopefully will give an update to see if this really lasts all day without touch-ups.

I used about half a pump for half of my face and I blended it using a Beauty Blender. Upon blending I was surprised at how effortless it was to blend. Maybe because the formula is very liquid-y, the blending was seamless. It almost feels like a serum instead because of how lightweight it felt. It felt like water! The finish was amazing, it literally looked like skin, unlike other foundations that promise to so. It covered my pores really well and leaves a satin, sheer coverage. It adhered to my skin really well. I ran my fingers over my face throughout the day to see if it would transfer easily, but it didn't. I do have an issue with the smell, it smells like melted plastic and clay (I really have no idea how to describe it) but for me, it would've been nice if they added a little fragrance. I couldn't get the smell out of my head and it lingered for 2 hours.

In the picture I had my moisturizer and sunscreen on, the sunscreen did leave a slight whitecast. I believe that the sunscreen altered the overall look of the foundation, because my face was obviously lighter than my neck. I haven't played around with this foundation ever since, so I might update this post after I've tried it on without sunscreen.

As for the finish, needless to say it looks just like skin. The downfall of this foundation is the coverage, although it did cover the redness around my nose, it barely covered my hyperpigmentation. My skin is my biggest insecurity, it doesn't look too bad on camera, but I think about it every single day. Honestly, I didn't expect it to be so low in coverage, I knew it was going to be sheer but not that sheer! On the other hand, the finish is wonderful. I don't know how to describe the finish perfectly, but it just looks like you have healthier skin. FYI, I've heard complains about how the foundation clings to dry patches and looks gross. I can't say so myself because my face is a fried egg.

Fortunately, the foundation didn't oxidize at all on me, but some people say otherwise. It really depends on your skin, another man's trash is another man's treasure.

I still haven't completely made my mind up on this, honestly. I need to play around with it more. But my first impression was pretty good, probably because I've never had a foundation so natural-looking. I love the formula, hate the coverage, in okay terms with the staying power, and not sure with everything else. Again, I need to experiment with it more to know if it justifies the price tag.

This was expensive, as all MUFE products are. I got it for Rp. 650.000,- or around $50. You can get yours at Sephora and MAKE UP FOR EVER.

As someone with very oily and acne-prone skin, I still have some hyperpigmentation and redness on my cheeks. I do my foundation, concealer, etc to cover all that redness and sad bits. When a blush doesn't work on me, it just makes me look red all over again and makes my marks more prominent than before. But when a blush does work, it gives a natural flush that blurs out my imperfections and gives off a clean, fresh look.

Being a long-time viewer of Pony, I've seen the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in #6 Grapefruit Jelly a few times, and in all of those times she loved the product. She also mentioned this in her Instagram, saying that it's her all-time favorite blusher. When Pony praises a product, then you go buy it!!! So I finally went and bought the blusher in a different shade, which is #9 Sweetberry Muffin. #6 Grapefruit Jelly looks amazing but I'm taking a break from peachy, coral-y blushers and have been loving baby pinks instead.

As always, the packaging is adorable. There's nothing like Etude for cute packaging. The blush comes in a round plastic packaging. It closes securely but I don't think it's sturdy, especially for travelling. I feel like the packaging would break apart if I accidentally dropped it. Oh, there used to be a sticker with the shade name and everything on the back but I messed it up so I took it all off.

Swatches

I got this in the shade #9 Sweetberry Muffin, which is described as a "no pearl, lovely strawberry milk color." Basically it's a semi-matte medium baby pink with neutral undertones. This is a color that will suit anyone apart from the deepest skin tones, since it can look a bit ashy. 

The blush has no shimmer in it, but it does reflect light. It really does reflect light. First, I thought it was a bit gimmicky but it really does! The finish is powdery but satiny, almost glossy depending on your lighting.

Overall, I think this blush is definitely a must-have Korean beauty product, aside from the cute packaging, the quality is super! The only downside is the lasting power, which may be a problem for those with oily skin, but won't be an issue for those with normal to dry skin. You can get Etude's Lovely Cookie Blusher at Etude House. I tried looking all over Amazon, Ebay, etc but they were all out of stock for this shade. You can get other shades at eBay, Jolse, ibuybeauti, and Gmarket.

I saw Etude's Tint My Brows Gel on an Instagram shop and it was only $8, so it was a great deal and I wanted to try it out for a review. Plus, drawing on my brows everyday is REALLY tiring. I do wish my untouched brows looked decent enough. But until that day comes, I'll have to fill them out every time I go out. I only have 30 minutes to get ready in the morning, and I'd really like to a spend good deal of them on extra shut eye, not eyebrows. So since this tint does claim to last for up to a week, what's there to lose? Even if they fade, it'll be easier for me to fill my brows in the morning because the faint shape will still be visible.

Maybe when I'm older I'll get my brows embroidered, considering how natural-looking advanced current (and future) brow embroidery is. People even get brow extensions now. Honestly, brow extensions sound disgusting but they don't use real hair so don't freak out! At least, that's what I know (or maybe they actually do...). Fun fact: my grandma got her brows tattooed back in the day and after a while they turned green!!! They were semi-permanent so those green tadpoles are gone now.

Product Description

I got mine in the shade #3 Gray Brown, which is exactly like its name. It's an ashy gray brown with neutral undertones, perfect for those with dark to black hair. Depending on the look I want, I like to switch between ashy and warm browns. Ashy browns give you a strong, fierce look while warm browns make you look cute. What I despise is reddish browns, they clash so horribly with my skin and hair.

So, here's how it looks on my hand. I was supposed to leave it on for 2 hours, but by the first hour it dried up and accidentally flaked off my hand. It turns out that the pigmentation was great! The color was exactly how I wanted even when I left it on half the minimum time.

First, the gel itself. The gel is REALLY thick, it's like goo but spreadable. It smells like fancy hotels. I DON'T KNOW WHY, but it just smells of fancy hotels. It's smells luxurious, which is a weird adjective to describe goo. After a while you do get sick of the scent and it'll start to smell more like chemicals. The scent really stays, even after a day!

The application was actually a pretty hard thing for me to do. Maybe I didn't apply thick enough, because it streaked badly and achieving the shape that I wanted needed lots of effort. I had to spend 10-15 minutes on each brow because I was scared they would be asymmetric and splotchy. Yep, brows are sisters, not twins, but it irks me when the start of my brows don't align. I applied it a little shorter at the start because I don't like boxy eyebrows, I left out some space for me to manually draw the start for a more natural, ombre look. 

After 3 hours, I peeled them off from the tail and it was painful! It didn't pluck any hair out but it stung my skin, maybe that's why it looked so red. I should've left it on longer because the gel didn't really tint all of the parts I wanted it to, like the bottoms brows. But they do look super natural and the color suits me. It looks patchy but in real life it doesn't, maybe I didn't apply enough product to the skin part and I should've left it on overnight for better pigmentation.

After that, I didn't cleanse my brows (you're not supposed to within 24 hours of applying) but getting water on them was inevitable, so they slightly faded to a dark, warm brown. Considering the name, I thought it would fade into something grey but all it did was get yellower. It's still on my hand and brows as I'm writing this, and they look somewhere between brown and blonde.

So all in all, I do say it's a pretty good product, it lives up to all its claims. The pigmentation is decent but it's better to leave it on overnight, the application is streaky if you apply it thinly but easy if you do a thick layer, the result is a natural tint that makes your brows look thicker without being fake. Of course, it doesn't give you flawless Instagram eyebrows, but it's nice for those who're looking for a natural look and those who can't bother to draw their brows everyday. I wish it faded to a light grey rather than this yellowish blonde that looks nothing like my hair.

My tip is, if you're getting it, to apply a thick layer and leave it on overnight. I'm gonna try it again tomorrow night, and maybe I'll insert the updated results. You can get the Tint My Brows Gel at Etude House, ibuybeauti, Jolse, etc!

This is a pencil type eyebrow that fills in between brow hairs.

1. Fill in between hairs with wider surface.
2. Draw brow line and delicate edges with slimmer surface.

Ingredients

The packaging is something you'd find in typical Korean brow pencils. It's a double-ended brow pencil with a twist. The pencil itself is retractable so you don't have to sharpen it. On one side it's convenient, on another side, pencils like this usually has very little product. This one only has like an inch of product!

On to the long-awaited part, swatches. I got #3 Brown, and it's a warm-toned medium brown with a hint of red. I would say it's an in-between brown that's not too ashy nor red. For me, who has dark hair, it's still very wearable even though it's slightly lighter than my hair. I do think people with jet black hair suit grey-ish browns better than warm browns like this. Actually, I'm wearing it in my side picture. Anyway, here's the hand swatch:

How it looks on my brows:

The texture is really, really soft. Almost too soft. I prefer harder formulas as they give perfect color payoff, but softer formulas like this are easier to apply. I do like the application with this. I only have 30 minutes to get ready in the morning and doing my brows in less than 5 minutes is no easy task. With this, it's easier to get the shape I want without much time and effort. The formula is waxy and glides on smoothly without being chalky. The color payoff is great! For me, it's the perfect amount. Some people do say it's too sheer for them, but it depends on your preference.

As for the longevity, I wear this from 6 AM to 3, sometimes 5 PM and there's no fading whatsoever. Since I have really oily brows, that's saying a lot. I also have bangs, and usually the inner brows fade quickly but I've never had issues with this one. So, longevity is no problem with this!

Overall, I think it's a bang for your buck... only if you get it at the original price (like it's only $3). But it's a good brow pencil, much better than its fellow counterparts from other Korean brands. I wish it had more product though. The quality of this product is top-notch, so I do recommend you get one when you're stopping by Etude or doing an online-shopping spree! They recently came out with a new shade which is a really light blondish brown. You can get it at Etude House, Amazon, and eBay for cheap.

The packaging's pretty simple, it comes in a plastic bottle which is bigger than my previous cleansing oil. Great, more product! Skinfood does have a knack for... unique packaging. In some way, they're always associated with food. Tomatoes, milk, rice, and now, sugar. The bottle looks kind of rustic, like something from the countryside. The labels on both sides aren't those cheap labels that look disgusting after getting water on them, they hold their shape really well. I'm all about pristine makeup & skincare packaging, I store my products in their original boxes (I never throw them out).

This cleansing oil is runny, it almost doesn't feel like oil. It's gentle on the skin, as it doesn't strip all your facial oils. It smells like burnt caramel cookies with a tinge of lemon. I actually like the smell, it reminds me of my mom's CNY baked goods. I'd smell this over apples any day. 

For those wondering, here's how to use it:

1. Wash your hands and dry them with a clean towel. This is important, both your hands and your face must be dry, or it won't work as effectively.
2. Pump the oil once or twice onto your palms, everyone has different needs so you can adjust first. You can rub them between your palms first.
3. Massage the oil into your skin. Use gentle, circular motions directing outwards, really get it in there but don't be rough to your skin. As you massage, your makeup melts away and so do other impurities. 
4. Add a little bit of water and massage again to emulsify the oil. It'll turn into something milky, keep adding water until all of it has emulsified.
5. Rinse your face a few more times, I do this to make sure I don't have leftover grease on my face.
6. Follow up with a gentle foam cleanser.

I don't double-cleanse everyday, to be honest, I only do it whenever I have makeup on. But I do double-cleanse after a day of exercise or outdoor sports, or just days when I feel a little more special and need some stress relieve.
